This is by far the easiest car shopping experience I've had. I registered on Truecar to shop around for deals and received certificates for 3 valley Hyundai dealerships. Out of all three, Autonation Tempe came the closest to a pain-free purchase of a new car. Of the three dealerships I was communicating with over 2 weeks, Fred Haydock / Scott Rivard were the most clear-cut and in fact, the only ones to send me detailed quotes over email so that I didn't have to haggle or renegotiate later.
When I dropped by at the dealership later with the exact stock number of the vehicle I wanted, the salesman I (whose name I've unfortunately forgotten) agreed to go by the emails I had with Fred/Scott even though Fred was not available. Although I ended up with a different vehicle than the one I had in mind, Autonation Hyundai Tempe made the process easier by pre-negotiating and standing by their quoted prices when I went to their location.
I haven't had the chance to use their service center for a refill or repair yet but the window tinting I went in for a couple of weeks after my purchase went well, with only some minor hitches, related to delays in setting up an appointment.
Online car shopping has put more power into the hands of the consumers, and dealerships now have to vie for sales without having a 'captive' buyer on their lot. Given the difficulty of working in this new environment, Autonation Hyundai Tempe has risen to the challenge and provides a honest, hassle-free way to purchase a new car.
