Coal Miner's Daughter is an ever-so-charming boutique tucked away in the idyllic Mirvish village on the lower level of a Victorian era housed store-front.
Featuring a well curated collection of vintage mixed with stylish independent Canadian designs, CMD is the quintessential one-stop boutique as you could easily be outfitted head to toe with a selection that covers everything from clothing, jewellery handbags to shoes!
I was really taken with the darling jewellery collections adorned with miniature scissor and vintage sewing machine pendants along with the edgy paint textured graffiti emblazoned leather clutches. I also appreciate the fair number of Toronto based designer fashions to be found here. My favourite pieces from CMD are designed in-house by one of the owners Janine, a line named Clementine & Tweed which is femininely pretty, yet at the same time very wearable. There is even a vintage turntable displayed here with an LP cover of Loretta Lynn's namesake song for decorative effect.
Sure we've all shopped those big box stores from time-to-time, but I love that one can indulge in a place like Coal Miner's Daughter to find something uniquely local and Canadian and not have to suffer wearing the same cookie-cutter fashions that everyone and their fashion blogging friends are so-called "rocking".
Coal Miner's Daughter is no diamond in the rough, it's truly a gem of a boutique shopping experience.
