| - Took my 2007 F-150 in to get my driver's window repaired. Samantha was my service assistant. She is very nice and helpful and empathetic with situations she has NO control over. After paying $130 to get my window looked at it was determined I needed a new power regulator and the cost was going to be just over $365.00. This took just over 5hrs!! My mechanic (certified on BMW, Mercedes, GM and Ford) informed me Team Ford OVERCHARGED me.
After taking the hit just a couple weeks later I was back getting it repaired yet again due to the Technician did NOT tighten my window enough because it was coming off track. I was not charged but this took over 3hrs!!
Shortly after this, I noticed my windows, and other accessories wasn't functioning properly. I noticed the wiring harness boot between the door and front panel was NOT properly put in and this may have been the cause. This was NOT the case and unfortunately the entire are shorted out. So I returned to have this checked. I informed Samantha of the symptoms and stressed I could NOT afford to wait all morning to have this checked. 2 hours later, Samantha informed me the technician thoroughly checked the wiring and determined there was a short in the harness and a more thorough diagnostic check would cost me $260.00!! I declined and questioned Samantha why so expensive and her response was due to ALL Ford Technicians go through vigorous training to become certified. Okay, that was acceptable but I still wasn't going to pay $260.00 on top of another few hundred to get this repaired.
As soon as I returned home, I took it upon myself to locate the short. Just 5 MINUTES!! I located it, purchased the proper gauge wire and soldered them together WITHOUT removing the door panel. 45 min!!! I understand large companies need to stay afloat, but price gouging, misleading your customers is NOT the way to do business!! To Team Ford, I've seen the apologetic responses to customers. Don't appease, better your business practices and service with your customers. Integrity goes along way.
