Moskito is a relatively new club that's opened in place of the old pink flamingo.
I've managed to catch a few shows there recently as well as during its soft opening days!
On the positive side, Moskito has been bringing in some underground heavyweights of the electronic scene. Catching the Detroit or Philly sound in the warehouse like space upstairs could be somewhat of an experience. Additionally I actually like the design, both in terms of the spaciousness and also the cool artwork on the walls (though the latter does lose its charm by the fifth visit).
What's kind of neat also is the maintenance of somewhat of a gatrobar downstairs, that has the capacity to make more sophisticated drinks and serves up some potentially decent chow. This could be a pretty unique experience if you need a break from the hardcore party scene upstairs!
What I didn't love so much about Moskito is the fact that they charge a good bit of $$ for some of their shows, and this is something I'd look into before heading over on a random night.
Additionally the crowd is a bit eclectic at times, but that is more or less expected with the scene! Finally I would also have a few more bouncers on the second floor in case things get ugly, the space is big enough to invite trouble every now and then.
Overall a relatively fresh and welcomed addition to TO clubs, hopefully it's here to stay for a while.
