  • Updated review 7/6/2010 - I have revised this review several times, and I feel like enough time has passed since my last and final (this time I mean it) disastrous visit. Service is hit or miss at CBNC. My wife loves CBNC and pleads with me to give them "one more chance" I protest each time and then give in. On our last visit, we arrived right after work around 5:15 hoping to beat the dinner rush, and it looked promising, we were the only ones in the place. Service couldn't be a problem right? WRONG! The hostess seated us in the back room, and I said "here we go into the land of the lost ... again". I sat down and started the stopwatch, five minutes went by and no waiter, ten minutes, no waiter, twelve minutes, another party is seated a few tables down, at 15 minutes, a waiter came in to take the order for the other party. I got up and walked out with my wife following. What came next was horrific. I reached over to unlock the passenger door and when I went to put the key in the ignition, there was an elderly Asian woman lightly hitting the drivers side window, pleading with me like I just kidnapped her only child. I think she may have gotten down on her knees at one point pleading and begging for me and my wife to come back in. Now when I go out, I like to have a pleasant low key experience. I like for waitstaff to be professional and I don't mind if they get a little bit informal, but I cringe when the line is crossed and it becomes personal. What was developing in the parking lot was extremely disturbing. My wife felt so sorry for this woman and insisted we go back in, I argued with both of them that this had been the fourth or fifth time I had received such poor service that second chances had long expired. I buckled once again and walked back in, and I'm sure the waitstaff was thrilled to see me. The woman visited our table every 3 and a half minutes to see how everything was going, making uncomfortable comments in broken English. This was becoming a dinner I would never forget, and for the final insult, she threw in a slice of cake to go on the house. What a mess! Some people explain this poor service at CBNC as a cultural misunderstanding, but I do not accept that explanation because the waiters are white Hispanic and Asian. My advice is to take your business elsewhere.
