  • If you come here, make sure you ask for another server if you are unfortunate enough to get Roye. The food was great, don't get me wrong, but the service at the end of the meal left such a bitter taste on my palate. The black cod with miso - 5/5 stars. Definitely a must-have if you're coming here for the first time. The creamy spicy crab - 3/5 stars. It was very oily, salty, and didn't impress us. Felt like it should've been served with some kind of carb (maybe bread or rice or noodles). The yellowtail jalapeno - 5/5 stars. Fresh fish and very subtle jalapeno flavors - delicious. The bento box - 4/5 stars. Ordinary dessert, nothing special and small portion size (the chocolate lava cake at Max Brenner is 100x better). Now back to my bad service experience. First, Roye mistakenly gave me the alcoholic lychee martini, when I distinctly ordered the lychee/pomegranate juice. The difference: juice is $7 and the martini is $14. He was nice enough to change my drink without much hassles, however, when we received the bill after our meal, he forgot to take the martini off. I politely asked him to change it and he agreed, however, he disappeared - we were left sitting there wondering what happened to him, then finally we noticed him chatting w/the folks at a nearby table and didn't acknowledge me when I tried to get his attention regarding the bill. FINALLY after 20 minutes of waiting, I flagged down another waiter and he was able to get the revised bill to me in less than a minute! Roye totally left us waiting - if he was super busy, he SHOULD have asked someone to fix our bill - no excuse, especially after spending ~$200 at this place. I don't think it's wrong to expect better service and treatment. Nobu - you should hire or train the servers to make sure the customers are satisfied, your food can't speak for itself.
