  • I have been dying to come to Muddy Waters since it first opened and can say that I was definitely not disappointed! A group of girlfriends and I had plans to come here for brunch on Saturday afternoon. Of course, we woke up to a huge snow storm that morning- but it didn't stop us from getting here for a Saturday funday! Once we all battled the snowy streets of Pittsburgh, it was around 1:30 that we ended up getting here. The hostess informed us earlier that there was an oyster shucking class that afternoon, so we weren't able to reserve a table for our group. We ended up sitting at the bar which was fine, but I would have preferred a table- especially with a larger group. The atmosphere inside is super clean and cute! It reminded me of a restaurant that would be at the beach- which was super refreshing for a frigid January afternoon! The service here was quick and efficient- I have no complaints! We started our lunch with plenty of cocktails and an order of the cornbread and various oysters for the table. The cornbread was served with an amazing sweet butter. This hit the spot for a cold day. The oysters were also phenomenal! We were seated right in front of the oyster bar- so it was fun to watch them prepare the oysters for us. They were served with a tasty vinegar to put on them to make them more flavorful. Their oyster menu had a lot of options & our waiter helped us choose some based on what we told him we liked, which was perfect since I personally don't know a lot about oysters. For my lunch, I ordered the bahn mi shrimp po boy with the cajun fries on the side. I could not stop eating this po boy- there was so many flavors with the perfect amount of spice! I look forward to coming back to Muddy Waters in the future!
