  • The Orleans is a very dated off-strip hotel that really is showing its age. They did not seem to have a parking garage but had a parking lot in front that was actually pretty crowded on a Monday evening. I appreciate that they still offer free parking unlike numerous strip hotels that have decided to start charging to park in their garages. The hotel exterior is interesting and appears to be going for an old New Orleans look. Upon entering you'll be greeted by a large, fixed display of alligators holding musical instruments and trying to look like a New Orleans jazz band I guess. You'll also be amazed at how smoky it is inside. Sadly, smoking is common in all Vegas casinos (even the fanciest), but the Orleans seems to have a bad filtration system as other casinos have just as many smokers but don't smell as smoky. Like any other casino you'll find a ton of eating and entertainment choices including a movie theater and a bowling alley though there's nothing with a particular WOW factor at this casino (eg the art gallery at the Bellagio, the grandeur of Aria, the architecture of Paris). Everything just felt so dated inside, though, and lacking the glitz and glamor and luxury feel of its strip casino neighbors. You're also basically stuck at the Orleans if you stay here as nothing is within walking distance though they do offer a shuttle to the strip. Given how inexpensively one can stay at a strip hotel typically (especially Luxor or Excalibur) I can't imagine a reason to choose the Orleans.
