  • I had been going to Kinglady for about 4 months since my regular girl at another shop left. I thought I would try a new salon. It was hit and miss on the quality of service I received. Sometimes my nails looked great, other times they were so so. Over this past weekend I broke a nail so I went in on Saturday to have it fixed. When the nail came all the way off, I noticed a small spot of fungus. I know this happens sometimes with fake nails, so not a biggie to me. I decided to have my nails taken off for a while to let them "breathe". I signed in as usual and someone took me back right away. I thought, great, this won't take long and I can continue my day. So the girl clipped my nails down a little shorter, filed off the gel polish and then had me soak my fingers in acetone. I don't really like when nail places do this but again, no biggie. I would rather them just pop them off using a nail tip to go between my real nail and the acrylic nail. Anyway, after about 5 minutes of soaking, the girl moved me over to someone elses work station and said another girl would be with me "right now". Everyone was busy so I had no clue who was going to help me. Several minutes went by as I sat there soaking in acetone watching my skin start to wrinkle and turn white. I kept taking them out and looking at them, looking at the girl who moved me, and looking at the clock. The girl said something in Vietnamese and the manager/owner girl came over to me, filed the gooey layer of acrylic off my nails and told me to put my fingers back in the acetone and "she would be right with me". Still no idea who "she" was! So after THIRTY FIVE MINUTES of sitting there with my fingers soaking in acetone, I had enough! I started wiping my nails off with a paper towel and proceeded to leave. The manager/owner or whatever she is (sits in the front) tried to stop me saying "she" would be right with me. I was pretty upset and asked "she who"?? Everyone is busy and I've been sitting here for 35 minutes and my fingers hurt! Not much effort to make sure I was a happy customer since I wasn't giving them much business that day (even though I normally spend between $75 and $125)! The pictures below show how my nails and fingers looked when I got home. I took me a couple days to get the rest of the acrylic off and file them so they were semi smooth. It's been almost 5 days and my fingers STILL hurt! I will never go back there!
