| - I feel it's time to update this review based on several poor experiences. We live around the corner and have eaten here numerous times and let me be clear, the food is completely edible/serviceable/whatever you wanna call it.
HOWEVER, the service here is.....unprofessional? The owners (I think they are the owners, the man and woman who run the joint anyway) make the entire experience completely uncomfortable. They sit and bicker at each other, and their employees, the ENTIRE time. It is unbelievable.
I called ahead on my way home to order two sandwiches. It took 4 attempts to get anyone to pickup the phone. Once "Michael S" did pick up the phone, I was put on hold and waited. I waited, and I waited, and I waited. I waited so long that I had arrived at the restaurant before he ever returned. Whatever.
So I go inside, very few people in line, wait, order and then the bickering begins. Very awkward for everyone in the restaurant. But here's the kicker: 40 FUCKING MINUTES LATER I GET MY SANDWICHES!!!! 40 MINUTES? SERIOUSLY? FOR 2 SANDWICHES!?!?!? Sure there were people in the restaurant, of course there are going to be people in your restaurant. So what's the goddam problem? This is what you're supposed to do right? You want to serve food right? And let me be clear, this was not a one off. This happens consistently.
On top of all of this, I feel that the quality of the food is deteriorating. My go to chicken salad sandwich is weaker and weaker every time. OH! And 75 cents for avocado demands more than a teaspoon of avo.
For comparison, we ate at the Duck and Decanter today. Similar price, BETTER sandwich, and surprise! I waited for 15 minutes tops. I mean, what a joke this place is. And my wife's sandwich actually had some avo on it. Wow. It's just not that hard.
I gave it 2 stars instead of 1 because yes, if you are in a pinch and need sustenance, you can eat here and you will be satiated. Hell, it MIGHT even be good. But the service blows, the wait is completely redonculous, and the bitching that goes on between the owners is baffling. Drive the 10 minutes and go to the D&D, you will thank me, trust me!
