Back in 2008 I was here and ended up needing surgery. I found my male doctor to be extremely helpful and caring. However coming back this week, that doctor is no longer there. Reception was nice. However the assistant that took me back wasn't so great. She asked me what I was there for... now my issues have been going on for months and to get the whole picture I really do need to explain the story not just the symptoms. However within a few minutes of just going over my symptoms, no questions on ANYTHING else, she got out a paper gown and said typically we have to look "inside" you. Invasive much? She didn't even know everything, how can she just to that conclusion. I protested and told her I would want to talk to the actual doctor before doing something like that. Especially with past trauma I thought the way she approached it was just terrible.
After five minutes of panicking, the doctor came in (luckily I did not have to disrobe). She was in there for about ten minutes. It was clear she did not read my information prior to seeing me. I have dealt with an eating disorder in the past of which has caused an abundance of issues and was clearly marked on my paperwork. She didn't even know this as we were talking. Although she is a smart lady, I found that I was not taken seriously, my issues were not taken seriously. I brought up my naturopathic doctor hoping that between her and this woman, maybe we can find a diagnois and get me the help I need. She disregarded that and it was clear she thought it was a bit of a joke.
Overall, I did not have a great experience and most likely won't be going back. I think I will try to see if the previous doctor is practicing somewhere else.
