| - I came to workout at the Tiedeman location for a week when my usual LA Fitness location at Crocker Park was being remodeled, and it's quite different!
This gym is two floors, with all of the cardio equipment located upstairs and everything else on the ground floor. They have a lap pool with 3 lanes, a hot tub, 4 racquetball/handball courts, a basketball court, a room for spin classes, and another room for instructor led classes like Zumba and Jazzercise. Lol
I really wish they had a track to run on like Crocker does.
The weight equipment is really nice, with the dumbells and plates being vinyl costed and nearly brand new. The dumbells go up in 2.5lb increments until they get up to 55lb, where to go up to 120lb in 5lb increments like every other gym has. I like the machines they have here because the weight stacks are a pinless design where you just flip a switch over to the desired weight and you can flip the top most switch to add 5 lbs. I've never seen this before! The free weights are nice, but the layout is a bit congested. The cable machines seem to be very popular as I always had to wait to use one and they have three of them!
The locker rooms are much bigger than Crocker's, but they were a bit on the dirty side. Also, old men walking around naked with no towel seemed to be a normal occurrence here, while it was rare to see at Crocker Park...ugh.
I'm not sure if this was due to the Crocker location being remodeled, but this gym was constant packed with people after work! It was hard to finish all of my exercises since people were hogging all of thr equipment. I never really had this issue at Crocker.
Overall, it's a nice gym.
