  • D-licious. Been wanting to knock off a few of my "to try" places, so I decided to hit Pan Asian. Super friendly service from greeting to departure. The menu is an interesting mix of various Asian foods, from Thai dishes like pad see ew to the Singapore specialty of Hainanese chicken rice. We had the crying tiger salad, the special of duck with red curry, the volcano chicken and the glass noodles. The salad was probably the best salad I have ever eaten. It was fresh, a little spicy, had some texture to it and the beef was delicious. The duck was excellent as well. No gaminess or greasy duck texture, crispy skin and tender inside, with an interesting red curry with grapes, pineapple, cashews, and peppers. The volcano chicken was similar to an orange chicken, but not as sweet and cheap like you are given in most "Chinese" restaurants that serve that **** for American tastes. It reminded me of Dumpling Inn in San Diego and their orange chicken. Good hunks of white meat, and good flavor. The noodles were also tasty. Several shrimp, with a good mix of veggies. For dessert, we had the tempura cheesecake, which is just as it sounds. A hunk of ice cream with whipped cream and a tempuraed piece of cheesecake. Decadent and delicious. Overall, a superb addition to the rotation and a great meal. The gentleman who served us (the owner?) was awesome. Super friendly and hilarious sense of humor. The décor was also nice and the inviting. One of the best restaurants I have found in a long while and we will be back...soon. For 3 entrees, the salad and 1 dessert, plus a thai tea, it was $68 including tax. The duck special was the priciest item at $22, otherwise everything else was around $9-$11. For two of us, we could have made do with one less entrée also, and I eat a LOT, so we could easily see coming in around $50 and being very happy for 2.
