  • You are a number and paycheck. Every review is spot on when it says the average wait AFTER your appointment time is 25m - 1h 15m. This is because they schedule appointments every 16 minutes but will spend as much time as needed with every client. While the one on one time spent is commendable, "stacking" patients to gross the most profitability is not. When you walk in, breathe a sigh of relief if there is a chair available. They have approx. 15 chairs in a very small, dirty and dark waiting room. They can have up to 20+ patients waiting at a time, so you may have to sit outside and wait for the nurse to call you out there (HIPPA be damned) If you do get an inside seat, be prepared to zone out the TV. My last appointment, the receptionist was watching Dr Phil on the topic of FORCED psyche stays and how untreated mental illness led to this man gruesomely killing his family. Gee - thanks for being sensitive to the audience. But don't be surprised the receptionist has contempt for everyone walking in, especially if you question her on the wait time - even if it's been an hour - you are not to question anyone on this practice. Dr. Dekker - sweet guy, unnecessarily huge ego.An ego that can actually harm his patients. They do not coordinate with any office or behavioral department for 'coverage' in case a client has a crisis, when they close the office for a week at a time. I asked why and he stated "No one in town can do what we do. They aren't up to our level" REALLY... you are so awesome, you wouldn't give a patient an emergency plan B because of how it reflects on YOU?!?! My last appointment with Dr Dekker was a train-wreck and he kind of lost control. I asked him about appt times and keeping on schedule. You would have thought I insulted this guys mother with the anger he came at me with. Through all the insults, this is what still sticks with me today, "I would LOVE, LOVE to refer you to someone else but, no one would touch you with a 10 ft pole looking at this *history" *I changed it to history to protect my details. I asked for the common decency of when you ask me to be here at 3:30; you be ready at 3:30 too or call me ahead of time. and he responded with anger, blame, shaming and superiority. I can't imagine anyone would want this for their loved one who is already suffering.
