| - At first, I thought suburban express was wonderful and convenient. Now, that opinion has definitely changed. Every time I have taken a trip with SE they are always late. We have taken stops that weren't listed as well, making the trip a four hour ride when it should have been almost three. I had a horrible experience with them one weekend and they gave me a $10 refund... I almost missed the bus to school because they were late and was just going to go back home. The tickets don't include the exact spot of the bus, so have fun driving around the mall 5 times until you see it. They attempted to charge my friend's account with a huge fee because SE claims she got on on the wrong bus stop, Luckily, she canceled the card in time. And their logo clearly has the word "SEX" in it.
One review said if you don't print your ticket as soon as you buy it it's gone forever. That is not true. SE send your ticket info and they provide a link if you weren't able to print it. I have used this feature before.
Also what makes me mad is that SE suggests the customers get there 10-15 minutes beforehand. Okay, I understand why that is important. They don't want people to be rushing to get on a minute before they're supposed to leave. False. Actually, it's in case they want to leave their stop early. Their website says "Since all clocks and watches on the planet are not synchronized, we recommend that you arrive at your point of departure at least fifteen minutes before scheduled departure time. Bus may depart up to ten minutes before scheduled departure time." If suburban has a clock that is 15 minutes off, they're obviously not competent. Things happen where people may not be able to arrive that early, but SE just wants to leave early. This has happened to me before. I planned to get to my bus stop early but the I missed the U of I bus that would take me there so I ran to ISR but SE was not there. Even though the departure time hadn't arrived yet. Luckily, I knew where the last stop was.
