dr. m. granfone saw my cat yesterday because i was afraid to wait for our scheduled follow-up appointment with the local vet. what i found in this very polite doctor was a condescending, snobbish attitude toward anything natural.
my appointment with dr. granfone was like two worlds colliding. it wasn't as though she knew anything about natural medicine and was against it; i could respect that. but in complete ignorance, in my presence this young doctor stood against a glowing natural alternative, slippery elm bark, that eclipses anything medical science has to offer for mucous membrane health and repair. she summarily dismissed it without even knowing what it was.
with the best of intentions, traditional medicine has taken us down a suicide path with antibiotics. i admit to being too biased toward natural alternatives. there needs to be a harmonious balance between traditional and natural medicine therapies. i will say, that for those of us who have put our eggs in the natural medicine basket, the natural world is deteriorating, and with it our paths to wellness will be eliminated one by one. there are some really good and knowledgable doctors out there who have found a middle ground that embraces both paths. dr. m. granfone is not one of those doctors.
