Came here with some free tickets provided to me by my job just to be charged an "upcharge" because of "the new reclining seats"! What?! What's the point of having free tickets if they aren't FREE? Also, how can you force someone to pay extra for something they didn't specifically ask for. I would have gladly sat in some FREE folding chairs and declined the reclining chairs if that was an option. The theaters would do anything to get some money out of you. It's no wonder it's a dying business!
Concession food is another rip-off. $5.00 for a bottled water I can get for $1.25 at the grocery store is just robbery! It's unfortunate because all I can think about is how low-income families would not be able to afford to go out to the movies for a nice night out because it's so unnecessarily expensive these days.
Clearly I only come to the theaters when it is *free* although now I find out it isn't truly free. I'm just going to start waiting for movies to come out on Redbox, Hulu, Netflix, OnDemand...there's so many other options.
Charging people "upcharges" and ridiculous prices on items that are otherwise very cheap (or FREE) is shameful. This last experience has been completely turned off on movie theaters altogether.
