| - I started my year lease paying for an apartment that I couldn't live in because management told me that it was "move in ready", when it was NOT. An African American gentleman who originally was with me when I signed my lease, no longer works here. Go figure.
Anyways, when I walked into my "cleaned" apartment, I was floored. Not only was the sink and shower in the master bathroom cracked (still hasn't been fixed, By the way).
There were cigarette burns in multiple spots on the carpet (still)
The blinds had a brown slime on them.(replaced)
The carpet is stained and frayed in multiple areas. (still)
The kitchen "tile" is permanently stained. (still)
The fridge shelf is cracked and broken (still)
The dishwasher isn't installed properly.
SCORPIONS.
I have a three year old who doesn't have an established vocabulary. She would NOT be able to tell me if she was stung by one. Leaving her in danger. My first encounter, I told them. all they did was send a company out to spray.
Within ONE WEEK, I had more. So, I started scooping them up, and putting them in containers and dropping them at the office. MIND YOU, they are alive...meaning the "poison" is not working. The exterminator even said that the apartment needs to be completely sealed, due to MULTIPLE gaps in the sliding glass door, along with the front door. He informed management, and nothing has been done. When I dropped off my 7th scorpion, an ACTUAL SCORPION TREATMENT was done.
I also, recently had a note stuck in my door, that "management witnessed" a pet in my apartment. I was to pay a $200 pet deposit, and a $200 pet fee, per animal. That this would be due on the first of the month.....three days from the date on the notice.
When I went to the office to try and figure out what animal "management" saw, I got two different stories. First, it was a "large dog", then I was told that it was "three cats". Not one member of "management" who "witnessed" the "pet" did NOT come forward, nor did they present pictures of the animal.
**scam alert, if you ask me.**
I , personally do not feel that they care about criminal activity here. Once, I walked out to find my upstairs neighbors by MY CAR, smoking weed. Why they couldn't do it in their own apartment, or around the corner is beyond me. You want to smoke weed..? Fine, keep it away from my shit, and my toddler. Because the next time I got in my car, it REEKED.
A maintenance man on a golf cart, drives by and waves. When the office was called, they said that there was nothing that they could do, because they didn't witness it. When in actuality all they had to do was get off their ass, and walk 30 feet. But, I guess that's too much effort.
Drugs are sold here. In plain sight.
Gunshots at night, apartments being robbed.
My largest annoyance now is the MULTIPLE notices that are being slid in my door. They've started about 2weeks ago, and every 7 days, I get a notice saying the exact same thing. Am I behind on rent? No. Noise complaints? No. Am I doing anything wrong? NO.
It is them telling me that my lease is up next year, and that I am to come and give them a *60* day notice on whether or not I am staying. MY LEASE IS UP IN 118 days. A little premature, don't you think? To me, I'm almost starting to feel harassed. If it were 70, hell, even 90 days until my lease was up, I would understand. But, 118 days to go? You don't need to be leaving me notices.
The rent prices for the amount of bedrooms you receive, are decent. However, be prepared for the management that is spawned from possibly the devil himself, some hoodlums, scorpions galore, and notices like it's going out of style. Also, another pain, they don't accept cash. Money order's are your friend. If I were you, ask them for copies of the M.O. with your receipts when you pay for anything. - Protect yourself.
11/14/16 I come home to basically an eviction notice. No phone call. Just a piece of paper shoved into my door.
I head down to the office and ask what is going on. Basically, they told me that they gave me two notices that I have sixty days to give notice. And I didn't do so.
My lease is up in MARCH.
It's NOVEMBER. I handed BOTH notices to the woman in the office, showing her that there was NO date for me to come down by. There were NO guidelines for me to set an "appointment" to give my notice. She never acknowledged that BOTH notices had no date on them, she just said, well it tells you to call us.
I gave my 60 day notice right then and there; 105 days before my lease is up.
Upon my leaving, I shampooed the carpets and cleaned from top to bottom. They charged me $100 cleaning fee. No where in my lease does it say ANYTHING about a cleaning fee. Management has REFUSED to return my calls, or show me my lease that says where I acknowledged $100 fee.
Oh, by the way, it's January 5, 2018....and none of these morons have called me back or shown me my original lease. LOL. :)
