  • I went to RA Sushi on Saturday around 6pm, in time for happy hour! Happy hour is from Monday-Saturday 3-7pm. I love happy hour food because it's always cheaper and it's just as good. This is my first time at RA Sushi. I haven't been to any other locations either. RA Sushi actually reminds me of Americanized sushi and not authentic sushi; however, it is still tasty. When we arrived, we found a table and the waitress greeted us immediately. She was nice and asked us about whether we've been there before. My other friends been there before, it was my first time. So we decided to only order off the happy hour menu. They ordered sake with the beer. We also decided to split two rolls, seared tuna and shishito peppers. We ordered the Viva Las Vegas Roll and Tootsy Maki. The seared tuna was delicious. There was only about 5 pieces of tuna and the sauce it came in was tasty, it was a creamish color sauce. It also had little beads on top of it that was black and white color, possibly sesame seeds. The tuna tasted fresh. The rolls did not have any raw food in them, all the seafood was cooked. (I love raw seafood such as sashimi). In the Tootsy Maki, it was tasty, nothing was too overpowering. The Viva Las Vegas had a little crispy top to it that added a crunch to it, it seemed like it was just deep fried batter. It says on the menu it's topped with a lotus root, it looks like it is in the shape of a lotus root but the taste of it didn't remind me of one. Maybe because it was so thinly sliced and deep fried, I couldn't tell what I was eating. In some of my bites, I could taste the cream cheese and sometimes it would overpower my bite slightly. I would recommend these rolls if you like cooked seafood and you don't mind cream cheese/mayo in your rolls. They are what I considered your "safe sushi" if you're not an adventurous sushi eater! I think they're good but I prefer more fish and sashimi in the rolls. They reminded me of the typical rolls I can get at other chain sushi places in other areas. Parking is easy in this area because it's a mall.
