  • I am very surprised by the negative feedback regarding Urban Venus because my experience was fantastic. I'm from Ottawa and heard great things about the nail bar so when I was in Calgary visiting family, I checked it out. My appointment was for 1:00 pm Saturday, May 12 (the day before Mother's Day so I wasn't sure how busy it would be). I arrived 10 minutes before my appointment and was welcomed with a smile. The nail bar was busy but the esthetician was able to take me right away. I was offered a beverage which arrived promptly and my esthetician started right away. She was pleasant and did a fantastic and thorough job of my pedicure!! It's probably one of the best I've ever had. I found all the staff to be very friendly and approachable and I loved the atmosphere. Everyone, including the clients, seemed to be very relaxed and at ease. The service I received at Urban Venus is much better than the service I get at my regular spa in Ottawa where I've been going for 4 years. The cost of my pedicure was also less than at my regular spa in Ottawa. I was very impressed with the quality of service at Urban Venus. I ended up buying gift certificates for my sister and three nieces! I highly recommend Urban Venus and will continue to do so particularly for my colleagues and friends who are in Calgary regularly for work.
