  • My girlfriends 50th surprise birthday and I helped her daughter organize everything. Her daughter ordered the cake and had a picture of the flowers she wanted re-creates on the large round one layer cake. I had to pick up the cake because she was with her mom and dad getting ready to bring her to the surprise party. When I arrived at the bakery, they were nice enough but the cake only had 3 poppies in the middle and nothing else. The cake looked plain and too much white space and there was no "happy birthday" on it. I had to have them add that when I picked it up. I said really this is what she ordered. She said yes. And then showed me the piece of paper with the examples of all the flowers that should have been created on the cake. I sent a picture to my girlfriends daughter and it wasn't what she ordered, but she knew there was nothing that could be done. When we cut into the cake there was a top layer of icing that actually cracked off the rest of the cake. I've never seen this happen before. The only reason I'm giving 2 stars is the cake inside was good, but you couldn't cut a clean beautiful piece to each guest, the top layer was crumbling. I know I won't ever a cake from there!
