  • Beware the hidden charges of Cox Communications! Funny how their own commercial warns against the hidden cost of their competitors when they do the exact same thing! We called them because we frequently lost my Internet service and they came out to check it out. We get the bill and whoa! We were charged for the service call and a "TV fee- franchise fee of $2! We only have Internet through them not TV so this charge was confusing! We were not informed by the Customer Service Rep that there would be a charge for them to come out when we originally called & they refuse to dismiss the charge unless we signed up for their Cox Protection Plan. (Be sure to read the fine print if you opt to that, there are restrictions & limitations). In addition we were told the "TV fee-franchise fee" was actually TAX on the service call. OMG! Then call it what it is! We have been with Cox for over a decade (here & California) but soon will not be customers!
