| - I was deeply disappointed in my experience with Collins & Greig. But to be fair, I should note that they are a very professional moving company. Pre-move customer service was excellent, and everything was safely moved. My problem is, as it seems to always be with movers, about time and money.
The estimate I was given (7 hours) was greatly exceeded, despite the actual size of the move shrinking after the estimate, and despite the fact that all of my possessions were thoroughly and safely packed. I was charged for 1-1/2 hours of travel time to my home (16km), and then the movers disappeared for another hour before they even began (claiming they'd been forced to move their truck, which was demonstrably not true - I was there).
Halfway through the day, I contacted the company just to make sure nothing was amiss, express my concerns, and to see if they felt they would still meet their estimate. (very politely, I should add) They assured me that they would. Well...as you can predict the move went ridiculously over time. All day, the crew worked like molasses and kept mysteriously disappearing.
When I was called about the final billing, I politely repeated my complaints and was assured a manager would call me to discuss. This call never came, and instead I received a visa receipt in the mail for a sum far in excess of both what I was quoted, and what would have been reasonable.
As a result, I cannot recommend this moving company.
