This airline company is the worst company they are maybe a half step up from Spirit. Unfortunately my father passed away. I was exhausted and tired and on a 7 hour layover in vegas. I spoke with the gate guy JIM MANDEOKE and asked for a closer seat. There weren't any. Which was fine because I had a window anyway and was boarding in 30 minutes. I sat by the row of chairs directly in front of the gate door.... I mean RIGHT THERE. I dozed off because I was purely exhausted and I had been up for days being by my fathers side as he took his last breath and then preparing for the funeral. I'm the oldest child so I was/am dealing with ALOT.
Anyway..... I dozed off.
You know what the gate checker JIM did?
He gave MY TICKET AWAY
Yes
GAVE IT AWAY
To someone else!
Because I dozed off!!!!!!
Now I can understand if he didn't know I was on that flight but I had just spoken to him 20 min prior and he saw me sitting there.
How do I know this?
When I asked him why he did that
His response was EXACTLY THIS:
"It's not my job to wake you up! And your ticket is gone I gave it to someone else on standby the flight is full"
(((((((WOW!))))))))
Then he didn't even help me get a new ticket. Someone else had to help me. He had ZERO CARE IN THE WORLD.
It was absolutely disgusting.
I put my headphones on to call my mom and he also shouts out
"You probably couldn't hear because you had your headphones in your ears"
Again
(((((((((WOW!)))))))))
First off I had no headphones in my ears and I was right there front and center by the gate and HE KNEW IT. How shady is THAT!?!?!?!
I get that it's not his job to wake me but seriously!
It would've been the right thing to do!
Then to be extremely rude on top of all that and try to rub it in my face and not even help me?
Well that's just downright wrong.
To make matters worse the next flight I got was a middle seat and the guy sitting next to me was so over weight that his belly fat (I kid you not) was 30% in my SEAT.
YES PEOPLE IN MY SEAT!
Unfortunately there were no other seats left and I had to ride uncomfortably all the way back on a 4 hour plus flight.
and to make matters EVEN WORSE....
(yes it gets worse)
I reached out to AA and complained.
Guess what they sent me?
NOTHING
No compensation
No points
No ticket
Just a BS automated apology that meant NOTHING.
I will avoid this place like the plague.
But unfortunately AA flies everywhere and I'll still be forced to use them.
This is why they can give a care less about this review or their clients because they're making billions anyway.
Sad
But
True
The only one that tried to really help me was Anthony. He should be the person managing but I think he's just the bag guy.
(Forgive me I don't know the actual title of his job)
