  • The Buffet at Aria is like that little closet or bathroom that became an afterthought in the remodeling of your house. I spent a good chunk of time exploring City Center last week, and I hoped to cap off an amazing personal tour by enjoying a buffet that was going to set the bar and contend with the Wynn buffet. The Aria hotel and casino as a whole, with so much beauty and attention to detail from floor to ceiling, left me captivated and wide-eyed... kinda like watching Avatar in 3D for the first time. And then came the buffet... ugh...booooooooring. The wall finishes were tacky and makes you dizzy/nauseous... not good for a meal. The layout is confusing, with the shrimp located all the way across the dining area from the crab? How does that make sense? Trying to control the crowds to make up for the fact the walkway has so little space??? I haven't even gotten to the food yet. Came between the brunch and dinner to save $. The food was subpar for what the place advertises. Prime rib is quality as long as you get the new batch, anorexic king crab legs and pretty plump shrimp. The breakfast items include a variety of sausages which weren't so tasty. Sushi (Salmon Nigiri) and Chilean Sea Bass (aka ugly Patagonian Tootfish) came out for dinner. The only thing that really stands out is that they had a fresh naan & curry food area... something that sounds like a rip-off at a buffet however. Here's hoping that this buffet is actually secretly still under construction like other parts of City Center.... ahem nudge AHEM!
