| - Frank,
This is James, a former customer of ocean floor. I have had my run ins with your staff in the past regarding snakes and such. We spent at least half of our tax return last year with in the span of a couple months, which was a significant amount of money for us. It was at least 5 - 6 grand going into your store.
With in those months, we purchased a fish tank, actually on your anniversary weekend, a 90 gallon tall. We spoke with Dan (the manager) and Vince at the time. We purchased with the understanding that we would be set up with a ready to go tank, i.e. Tank, stand sump, all the plumbing lights, pump ect.... We did purchase most of these things separate and they did stay at the store for some time, because we were moving. I have just got to the point where I can start up the tank, and we have been fighting with the tank for a good week now. Attached are photos of everything we received with the tank (the stand, sump, pump, light and SOME plumbing). We had to not only get extra parts that were NOT with the tank and should have been. The plumbing from the pump to return, and clamps and such to secure everything.
We now have everything we were supposed to get in the first place, and that wasn't a big deal to me, but now that we are in testing phases for leaks.... The tank had 2 random drilled holes with ocean floor did supply plugs for, however, one of the plugs was the exact size as the hole it was plugging, which actually proved ineffective. We again fixed that issue, filled the tank up, now, the over flow is leaking as it didn't come with nuts to tighten it to the tank, and a rubber washer that was I don't know how old, but disintegrating. We rectified that situation, filled the tank up once again to test and now the return hole is leaking.
Upon my frustration I called the store to express my aggravation, of course respectfully and not yelling or using profanities, and trying to do so in a respectful manner. I talked to Dan as the manager on duty. Apparently, because I made a post talking about my situation briefly, he was completely rude to the point where he was calling me a liar, and telling me I suck at plumbing. He let me know that the tank was tested and everything worked fine. If this is the case, how did they get a plug the exact same size as the hole to work, how did a rubber washer which was falling apart hold water, and why is my return leaking. I get if it were my fault that these things are happening, but I'm working with the materials sold by your store that they say worked for them. I am to the point where because of our snake situation and the slander that ensued there and this situation where I am not being called a liar and not being taken care of, I will in fact pass this info on to as many people as I can, and also get in touch with some news stations about how I was / and am treated in your store. I would expect more from your standard of operation. There has been no rectification on your or your stores part not even an apology from my previous experience. I hope that you as the owner, and no higher than you would be bothered more than your employees about this. I do have pretty far reach into both the fish community and reptile community and I will let them all know, and every time I see the name ocean floor dropped I will continue to let them know.
This is a ridiculous way to treat customers weather or not the customer is always right. I am not setting the tank up alone but with knowledgeable people in the community who are also frustrated with our set up, so I know I am not too far off here.
I hope that you can see the error in this standard and do something to correct it not only with me now but future customers.
Regards,
James
