| - Mastroni's has always been a family favorite, but sad to say, the quality is slowly deteriorating, which is why they get four starts instead of five today. Love the atmosphere and ambience. It's not to quiet, but not very loud here either. I sat at the bar last night, which was a cozy intimate spot in front of the kitchen. We ordered a round of the clams, the cioppino, and the chicken Francese. The clams were a really good, if not perfect, appetizer with warm bread. Unfortunately, I was disappointed with the Chicken Francese: my every time choice meal. It just wasn't that great; it was very bland with nothing to it. Had to much egg too. The sauce was yummy...with bread tho (lol). For the first time in forever, I didn't finish it or ask to take it home. Wah. The man ordered the cioppino, but it wasn't anything special either. Just okay... Sadly, it was his first time at Mastronis, so I'm not sure if I'll be able to convince him to give it another go in the future. Not really sure what's going on here (by the look of the yelp reviews) or if it was a bad night to dine with them, but probably won't revisit again for a bit.
