| - Wow. That was awkward.
My wife and I were in the area so decided to stop by and see what new things they'd gotten in. We hadn't been back since my prior review, now well over a year ago, and there looks to be a lot more merchandise on the lot at this point. Figured why not have a look?
Posted business hours state they are open until 5:30 today. It was barely 5pm as we rolled in. One lone employee, female, was outside watering some of the plants adjacent to the entrance. As we exited the car, she asked us if she could help, but I told her we were just looking. With that, we walked inside and started down the main drag.
Not 1 minute later, the same employee comes storming up behind us. "Hey!" and "Excuse me!" so we turned around. "Can I help you?" "No, we're just looking," I answered, yet again. What happened next is nothing short of breathtaking.
"You're not welcome here."
Re-read that until it sinks in what an asinine thing it is to say to a former and would-be repeat customer, not to mention one that had heretofore thought of you as a five-star place (see my prior review below!).
"What? What are you talking about?" we asked, dumbstruck. "You know why," is her first reply. When we tell her we have no clue what she's talking about, again, she then proceeds to ask me my name, as if that's any of her business. "Aren't you that guy that did this bad thing to us before?" she replies. Still befuddled, I told her the only bad thing I ever did was buy an A. parryi, which she happens to be the person who rang it up, and then went home to give them a 5-star review on Yelp. After this, "Oh, yeah you and your wife just look like this couple that did this bad thing to us and my boss said they're not welcome here."
You can't make this up folks. She then apologizes, now seemingly remembering us from before, and says that we can go ahead and look around "even though we're already closed," (mind you, not 5:30 yet, so no, they were not closed). I told her no thanks, not interested if that's how they treat repeat customers, and we both walked out. She said she was sorry again, and I told her she should be.
Absolutely shameful. I would advise you to avoid this place since the staff is apparently unable to tell the difference between repeat, happy customers and "some people who did bad stuff" to them. I never got an explanation for what that bad stuff was, so I have no idea what our evil twins did to wrong their nursery, but the whole experience was just bizarre. I say again, avoid this place unless you want to get hassled because you apparently look like some unknown people who did some unknown thing to some unknown boss who wasn't even there to explain why his staffer was hassling us.
Again, what an incredibly shameful way to treat customers. If you're not sure who someone is, here's an idea, make sure before you accuse them and practically throw them out of your nursery. Unbelievable.
