  • I am a big fan of grand lux cafe so let me start off by saying that. However my last visit pushed me to write this review. I had ordered a to-go entree salad 20 mins before I knew I would be at the restaurant. When I arrived I went to the bar to pick it up. There were 3 bartenders working, I believe 1 was in training. After I want to say maybe 7 minutes the trainee came over to me I told him I was picking up an order. He then went to the back to pick it up came out maybe 4 minutes later handed me the salad and I proceeded to hand him my debit card. I checked the salad just in case to make sure it was the right one, kale and avocado salad w/chicken, and it was wrong. Mind you this is 30 minutes after I had placed the order. I let him know it was incorrect, he apologized and went back to the kitchen and brought it back out after another 4 minutes. He said it was the right salad just with not enough kale. I told him no, that I have ordered it many times before and it's an all kale salad with absolutely no romaine in it. He said well that's not what the chef told me. I told him trust me I've had it before so I know what I ordered. He took it to the back and I proceeded to wait another 10 minutes. I've now been in the restaurant 30 minutes for a SALAD after giving them 20 minutes head start. He came out and said the manager would be bringing it out. Finally he brought it out, apologized for the miscommunication and charged me not even full price but more than what I have ever paid for it in the past because they charged me for the wrong salad! I was so shocked that the manager was taking any kind of payment at all that I just gave it to him. So upsetting because I realized when I opened it yet again when I finally sat down to eat it, that it was still not the right salad. Unbelievable Please work on how to handle this situation, not the best example for a new trainee. Cannot believe I paid for a salad I ended up not even eating because after all this the chicken wasn't cooked all the way through. Thanks grand lux
