  • I used to be ALL ABOUT McCarran Terminal 3. Leave LAS on weekends from Terminal 3 used to be a breeze. Cheap parking and short security lines. It seems, though, that someone has found out about my secret favorite terminal and spread the word. The parking used to be $12 / day, and is now $16 / day. I have resorted to parking in Economy parking for $10 / day, but this means I have to walk clear across the parking lot and concourse to get to the security checkpoint. Something happened and the security line, while still decently fast, is much longer than it was a year or two ago. The TSA agents are good at helping people pick short lines, though. At some other airports, I have seen separate lines for "experienced" travelers vs people who don't travel so much. This makes it so impatient people like me can get through the line quicker instead of waiting for eternity while somebody digs through their bag trying to collect their liquids as though there aren't signs about it just about everywhere. I do like the bathrooms here at Terminal 3. The stalls are large enough to wheel your suitcase in and decently clean. Lots of places to drink if your flight gets delayed - chop house, the local, or the pub. For food, there aren't that many choices - Pei wei, Burger King, or chop house. (True for the E10 and up side. E1-10 are not currently within sight and I'm too lazy to walk over there to see what they have ;) ) There are no water bottle refill stations, just lots of drinking fountains. I think all airports should have vertical water bottle stations! They also have been calling Shewanna Johnson overhead for the last 10 minutes. That might be a real person, and if Ms (Mr?) Johnson ever reads this post, I'm sorry, but I can't help but chuckle at that name.... :D
