  • Finally had to find a vet for my dogs here in Vegas when I realized my old guy Milo (12 yr old Spaniel/Terrier mix) had a huge red lump on his paw that he wouldn't stop licking. Ugh. Got the recommendation for S.A.H. from my friend and since they are very close to where I live, I wanted to give them a try. Very nice facility, looks brand new and is very clean. The front desk lady is wonderful, very sweet and very helpful (sorry I missed her name!). I wasn't impressed by the 2 young girls who took me and Milo back into the exam room (the vet tech's i guess?). They seem like they may be brand new to the work? Maybe even still in school for it? I don't know, but I was still annoyed. They really didn't seem like they knew how to handle Milo - and after he peed on the table out of fear, they just left the room and left the puddle there. Who does that?? I cleaned it up myself so he wouldn't get it all over himself and the room. They also had pretty poor skills for interacting with me - not as friendly, reassuring, and informative as you need to be in that position. Anyway, we saw Dr. Warner and he is very nice. He took all the time needed to answer all of our questions and concerns and he was very friendly. Also, he was very gentle and kind to Milo which is obviously important. Everything went very smoothly, from the blood-work to the surgery to the recovery and I'm very satisfied overall. We had the lump sent out for a biopsy and Dr. Warner called me on a Friday afternoon to give me the results, even tho we had an appointment scheduled for the following Monday morning and he easily could have let us sweat it out over the weekend. And he always calls, not his assistants or his techs like other vets I've been to. Milo is cancer-free so yay for that! Some people have mentioned the prices, I'm not sure about that. The price of everything for Milo's surgery was about $1000 total - but that's including the office visits, the surgery, the biopsy, all the meds, the anesthesia, etc.. Doesn't seem outrageous to me. We are talking about dogs, not cars. I really would not be comfortable shopping for the lowest price for surgery for my dogs whom I love like they are my kids. But to each their own I guess! I highly recommend Dr. Warner at SIena and I'll be a patient here for as long as I'm in Vegas and I have pets.
