| - Overview: Treasure Island is a ~4-star class hotel/casino located in the middle of the Las Vegas Strip. It was once a pirate themed hotel but was rebranded as "TI" in 2003 and only small vestiges of its old kitschy vibe remain. It's also the home of the original Cirque Du Soleil show Mystere and several nice restaurants. Rooms in the off-season are below $100 and there are lots of deals that bundle in Mystere tickets.
The Rooms: Let's start with the bad. My normal room had central heating/cooling, mediocre views of the industrial parts of Vegas, a frustrating television system that had an incredibly slow menu, and a fridge that should've been colder. Now for the good. Nice spacious room, good comfortable pillows and sheets, extremely fast elevator, quiet rooms, and a very comfortable and spacious bathroom.
The Casino: Constant noise, lights, stacked odds, and pretty women passing around drinks. I'd say it's slightly above average for Las Vegas.
The Shows: Mystere is a great show in a nice small venue that basically offers awesome seats no matter where you sit. When I was there you could even watch practices on the weekends for free!
The Restaurants: I didn't actually try eat in any of the restaurants but my friends had many nice things to say about them. One oddity is that their Asian themed restaurants basically serves every single type of food on the planet from sandwiches to pizza to pho... which doesn't sound very Asian.
Conclusions: Beautiful hotel, good value for the money, good location, good Cirque Du Soleil show, free parking, standard spacious casino, and great rooms. Honestly, I'd give this hotel 5-stars if it was in any other location but Las Vegas has really stepped up its game with breathtaking hotels like The Bellagio, The Palazzo, and City Center. If you can't afford the $50-100 up-charge to go to a 5-star hotel like the ones I just listed, I would highly recommend TI.
