  • Well they tell me of a pie up in the sky Waiting for me when I die... I wonder if Jimmy Cliff visited Wanda's Pie in the Sky before he penned the lyrics to reggae classic "The Harder They Come". For I'd be a happy man if upon expiring and entering the pearly gates I'm presented with the wares of Wanda's. I confess to not sampling the pie but, but... there was something about the scones that had me hooked as I looked in the display window. Pies have all the fun so I decided to 'liberate' a scone from its sedentary misery. It was as if during a high school dance I decided to ignore the more popular girls and ask a wallflower for a dance. The cheese flavored scone was large enough to break into two more manageable sections. No need for butter or jam on this scone. But our story does not end with a scone, oh no, there's another character to add to this collection of baked intrigue: peanut butter and jelly cookie. I had to inquire of the staff what was the orb with jelly oozing out of it. I then had to order one, eat it and really do my best not to order more. Peanut butter cookie with jelly in the middle was the treat that sealed the deal-- Wanda's was indeed a fine purveyor of baked goods. The staff was friendly, the communal wooden table was topped with brochures/letters of local note and the crowd was reaching for their pie in the sky with assorted forks. A tip of the hat to yelper Deanna W for this recommendation! So as sure as the sun will shine I'm gonna get my share now of what's mine at Wanda's pie in the sky!
