I'm the shopper who doesn't want to be bothered. 80% of the time I know what I want, but I enjoy wandering around looking at everything. I must not look the part because I am always stalked and harassed by these employees to the point where I just end up leaving and going to Nordstrom sometimes.
The few times I have genuinely needed help, no one wanted to help me OR they half arsed it. To say I return more than I actually keep is an understatement. What do you expect when you sell someone the wrong item. And then you want to give me a hard time for not having a receipt? I can barely keep up with my keys!!
I'm also not keen on how this place processes returns. I think it might even be considered illegal. If you use a debit or credit card to buy something, the store pays a transaction fee to their bank. The fees they pay for debit cards are much less than credit cards. Substantially less. Returns are to be processed in the exact same manner as was used for the purchase: credit for credit, debit for debit. The store also receives a refund on the transaction fee they paid. So why is it when I return something I purchased with my debit card are they processing the refund as a credit? I'll tell you why, to steal money. A debit card transaction fee is usually $1.00 whereas a credit card transaction fee can be a flat fixed amount ($3) or a percentage (3%). When a debit card is refunded as a credit card, Sephora actually receives MONEY BACK on that transaction...higher than what they initially paid. That's theft. They say their system doesn't allow them to process a debit card refund. We all know when you enter your pin the money is deducted (or refunded) immediately; credit card transactions take longer. While doing a return their system differentiates between the two cards & responds accordingly, asking me for my pin. Every time the cashier cancels the return & tells me not to enter my pin & will redo the return & yell at me to hit CREDIT. Shady. Super shady.
Unfortunately, I'll still come here. They carry the brands I use and its easier to go here than Nordstrom. If I want "expert advice," however...I'll go to Nordies.
