| - Pros:
-Close-knit community...sorta. There are community events throughout the year that encourage families to come to the park and socialize, especially in the summer.
- It's clean. For the most part, the brushes are trimmed, flowers are planted in regular intervals, and it's especially pretty during blooming season. Big ups to the hard working gardening crew.
-Jogging paths and parks are adequate. There's even a few dog parks scattered around.
- Two very good independent coffee shops: Perk Up Coffee Shop and Beanz Coffee Café (on Blue Diamond and Decatur by Café Rio).
-Sometimes I'll see ex-reality stars from Vh1s Bret Michael's Rock of Love show at Smith's. Titties out and pink track suits to boot, too.
-It's family friendly. A good place to raise a family.***
Cons
-It's family friendly: aka it's boring here.***
-Breeding and hunting spot for the (future) casts of the Real Housewives of Las Vegas.
-We don't have a library and the nearest one is Enterprise Library.
-They're building MORE residential homes, like we need more of that garbage. How about a library, an outdoor jogging track, or a bigger dog park?
I was driving along Dean Martin towards Cactus and I see a big sign that says "Luxury Apartments Coming Soon". Good god.
-Lack of food options - especially Mexican and Asian food. I'm sorry but Roberto's, Taco Bell, and China A-Go-Go is NOT cutting it.
-The dreaded Cactus and Dean Martin intersection. You know and I know what I mean. It's the main artery that connects most residents to the 15. When it is clogged, my blood pressure raises. And finally, they're fixing it so hopefully that will mitigate traffic jams.
-We are far from EVERYTHING cool. We live in a small city and that means two miles is long. I don't care what anyone says. And don't try to convince me that the country-ass Silverton is happening because it's not. Countless times I've been given recommendations and rave reviews of restaurants or events and to find out, it's far, god dammit.
