I've had overpriced haircuts and mediocre haircuts that made me feel meh the moment I swiped my credit card. But this is the first time I had a BAD haircut. I had long hair for years and went in to cut my hair short for the summer. I just wish my stylist had said something if she's not comfortable or familiar with cutting my hair type. Granted I have the typical dark straight Asian hair, I never intentionally went to an Asian hair salon for a cut...but maybe I'll take that into consideration after this time.
My stylist Sandra was very nice and friendly and we discussed how long we think is the right length. She washed and styled my hair with nice products. Everything was great until towards the end. She had already blowdried and styled my hair and the back of my hair just doesn't look the way we expected. So she started cutting out strings of my hair in the back that were not in place with just the regular scissors AFTER it's styled/curled. I had to tell her to thin out my hair with the scissors with teeth so it's more manageable. So she did it, and it worked...
However, after my first wash, the hair in the back is really uneven. Long strings sticking out under the shorter ones on the outside. The only way to hide it for now is to curl those pieces in so they don't stick out. I like the length but I'm going to have to get it fixed by someone who's more experienced.
