  • This Staples routinely displays goods they don't actually have in stock. I went to buy a family version of Office for Macs and was pleased to find a whole row of them ostensibly available for purchase, only to bring one to the cash where a stock boy sent to retrieve one from the back told me there weren't any left in stock (after first bringing me the wrong one). The same thing happened again this week, when I went to purchase a portable hard drive. Despite having many on display, none were actually available to buy - which I only found out after waiting a good 10 minutes while the entire rest of the line was served. I suppose in the end it worked out, because I just walked across the parking lot to Future Shop and bought a better hard drive for twenty bucks less. Lesson learned: only buy office supplies here, not any kind of technology.
