| - I like this place a lot. It follows all of the rules of finding great ethic food in a big city (e.g. family-owned, always packed, and lots of folks from the country of origin), and the price point is impossible to argue with. It's probably the cheapest delicious meal you can get in the city.
Of course, you'll want to try the Beef Pho, but there's so much more to explore on this menu if you wander around a bit. I don't love the Bahn Mi here (too much bread), but they're wonderfully cheap if you're looking to fill your belly on the fly. I also love the chicken porridge when I'm not in the mood for Pho.
Some folks might be turned off by the location, which is definitely modest, but we're here to eat good Vietnamese food, not luxuriate in leather armchairs. I go here regularly, and not out of habit. I wouldn't recommend it if you only have time to try a few places on a vacation, but if you live in Phoenix, it would be a mistake to not make a habit out of Da Vang.
