| - If I had the option to give zero stars I would. This company is terrible and will scam you and take your money. My boyfriend and I are first time homeowners and as you can imagine we have plenty to deal with and to learn and we've learned our lesson with this company. Our AC unit would trip out and shut off, you'd have to reset the breaker to get it to come back on. Then it would trip again. Their first visit on May 11th they charged us a total of $200 to fill the freon because they said it was low. The air worked fine for a few days then started doing the same thing. We dealt with it for awhile, setting and resetting the breaker. We ended up calling again and another $200 later they did the same exact thing on their second visit on June 20th. It didn't work more than a day after they came this time. I called on Saturday extremely angry and trying to figure out why they can't find and fix the actual problem after two visits. It's 90 degrees INSIDE our house and we've already paid them $400 and still no AC. The person who answered was no help and just kept telling me, I don't know I'm just a tech. I was able to get the names of the supervisor Jamie and the owner Robert. The unknowing tech told me I needed to call back Monday and make an appointment. Well I called back bright and early Monday morning and asked to speak with Robert and was told he wasn't in. I asked to speak with the manager on duty and low and behold Robert appears on the other end. His tone and his customer service is garbage and tells me the only time he can send someone is late afternoon. My very next phone call was to another company I found on yelp with over 100 reviews and a 5 star rating. I called at 8:45 and the owner of that company was at my house by 9:30 inspecting and giving me a free estimate. He could tell immediately we had a leak, he pulled the top off and BOOM! There's the leak on the compressor pissing out all over, I could see it with my own eyes, this man showed me every single thing step by step. If I can see it and I don't work in this field, how come it wasn't seen in two visits before??? The gentleman giving me the estimate gave me his opinion and suggestions on what needed to be done. Anyway, Koldair shows up at 2pm and I ask him what he's doing and he tells me, I was told to fill the freon, and seal this valve blah blah blah and I ask him, it's not leaking? You don't see the leak? Common sense says if you keep filling something that's fucking leaking it's just gonna keep leaking out, and if I can see it how come you can't? This man tells me he doesn't know if it's leaking, he literally had no more words for me. The look on his face was one of, how does she know this??? I have a few HVAC friends back home in NJ so I tell one what's going on and he tells me the freon filling shit is a scam. They know you have a leak but will just keep charging you for freon. It's lucrative at $200 a pop every 2/3 weeks. So this idiot does whatever he does and says they aren't charging me this time but next time they'll have to run a nitrogen test to see if it's leaking and lists off all the charges for that. ITS CLEAR TO SEE ITS LEAKING, I can see it's leaking. Well he leaves and the air never started working again AT ALL. Needless to say but we called back the other company right away and went with them. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY ON KOLDAIR!!! THEY WILL SCAM YOU AND RIP YOU OFF!
