Approximately 6 months ago, I went to Firestone to get my oil changed. The guy convinced me to get synthetic oil. I have never ran synthetic on my 2010 Challenger before. Based on his recommendation, I changed over. When they called to say my car was ready, they told me I needed 4 new tires. I had less that 40k miles on my car at the time. I would not authorize the work over the phone. He then proceeded to try and scare me by saying they were so bad he wasn't comfortable with me driving away on them. I again said I'd be in to look for myself. Upon seeing the tires, I agreed that one was on its last legs n was willing to buy two. I asked if they did nitrogen. The do not. So they were willing to change my tires n not fill them to my specifications which I would not have known if I didn't ask. I also heard another mechanic giving the same speach to another customer over the phone. Needless to say, I did not get my tires changed there. I came to the Tire Works on Jones. I did not tell them what had happened. They looked at the tires n said one was bad but suggested two and a rotation and allignment.
Fast forward to today. I'm back at Tire Works getting my oil changed after 5000 miles. That is the recommendation from Dodge and should be well within range for synthetic oil. My car has been running a little off. Come to find out, the oil in my car is regular oil. Firestone charged me $80 for a typical oil change. The guys at this particular store are crooks. Don't go there. Go to Tire Works on Jones and the 215. They're nice, reliable, and honest!
