| - It boggles my mind the idiocy of some yelp reviewers sometimes. I see multiple reviews on Palms docking it a star or two because it's not on the strip. WTF? Like you didn't know this when you booked it? Like the Palms is normally on the strip, but decided to move a mile west just to inconvenience you? Might as well dock the Palms because it doesn't have a view of the ocean, too. Ridiculous.
The Palms is fine. I stayed there 3 nights and had zero complaints about anything. Actually, I'll dock it a bit because the ice machine on my floor wasn't working, and I called housekeeping about it the first day, and it still wasn't working by the time I left.
Plus, the Palms room have that sense that it was a really chic, trendy, happening spot when it first opened, but now it's kinda run-down. I mean, it's still clean and all, but little things like small marks on the wall, or slight paint chipping here and there really give the impression that this place is probably due for a touch-up.
Also, even though the Palms isn't on the strip, you'll still have plenty of the strip-like clientele in the casino - partiers, clubbers, 'bros', etc.
Other than that though, I had a double queen room in the Ivory Towers and it was fine - the room was spacious enough, and it was on the 24th floor so I had a nice view of Vegas (though not the strip, obviously). The staff and workers I dealt with were very friendly, and I would definitely not hesitate to come back here. Actually, I already have another trip booked for this summer!
