I really liked this trail and it is not far from the visitor's center. I got the map from the visitor's center and the gentleman there was very informative and nice, suggesting this trail to be a good one and not too hard for our little four paws.
He was right, the trail was awesome, with different types of trees providing shade, so many nature sounds, and an easy to follow trail. We saw lizards, heard a few species of birds and the awfully loud cicada insects.
It has a small incline to it but nothing too hard and I believe it is a little over 2 miles roundtrip. We saw about a dozen hikers the entire time on the trail including kids and other dogs.
The only disappointing part was seeing how some don't have common sense to pick up after themselves and dogs. We constantly had to watch out for this on our hike, gross.
We felt like all was nicely experienced on this hike, from nice quiet moments, to greeting other hikers, some nice sunny weather to a down poor of rain and thunder.
Great hike and great nature trail shared with my family!
