Don't waste your time and money here! Back in May 2015 I reserved a suite for 3 days as my daughter was getting married at the Lake Club at South Shore. The girls had the room the night before and we all got ready in the suite the day of. At 3pm I called the front desk and said we were leaving for the wedding could Someone come empty the garbage deliver towels and change the bed as it was my husband and my room after the wedding. Front desk said no problem. We returned to the room at 11pm to find that no one had come to clean. 8 hours later no service. I called the front desk again and spoke to the rudest most unprofessional manager I've ever encountered. "Whitney" proceeded to tell me there was no one on shift who was qualified to make a bed. REALLY??!! Is that even possible in a hotel? She ended up telling me that's the best I can do which is send someone to empty the garbage and then she hung up. I went to the desk to see her in person and her explanation for being rude was " I believe in telling it like it is" what does that have to do with this situation. They finally sent someone to make the bed and it was a total joke. They could have just left the sheets and I would have done it myself. They threw the flat sheet Over the mattress and the comforter over that. No fitted sheet no tucking in. After I checked out I received an email from Hilton wanting me to rate my stay. Of course it wasn't a very good review and a manager contacted me that same day. She told me that is not usual service at their hotel and to please give her a chance to make it up to us. A few months later was our wedding anniversary and we wanted a small staycation close to home. I remembered the manager offering a "wonderful" locals discount if we'd come back for another try. So I booked an even bigger suite for 3 days. I checked in online that morning and was given the option to have items in the room upon arrival. I order champagne and chocolate covered strawberries. When we arrived there was no champagne or strawberries. I emailed the manager and told her this and that I had just gotten there and I'm already disappointed. She apologized and said she'd send right up and that they would be comped for my trouble. That was at 3:30pm. The champagne and strawberries arrived after 7. The next day we spent the day on property. The hotel is run down and needs updating and repairs. We were back in October for the second visit and it was cooler. The pool was ice cold. Many people at the pool were asking why it was so cold and the lifeguard went on about something in the engine room blew out and who knows when it will be fixed. The restrooms by the pool were dirty and no paper towels. I expected better from a Hilton property. The next morning we ordered room service breakfast. I specifically ordered it to come no later than 8:30am as we had plans later that morning. At 8:30 food service calls and says they don't have the eggs Benedict I ordered even tho it was on the menu. They asked for an alternate choice. My husband and I were sharing the breakfast as we are not big eaters so I ordered eggs and bacon. Somewhere around 9:20 breakfast came and not only was there the eggs and bacon they also brought eggs Benedict that they just said they didn't have. I called food service again and said I didn't want two breakfasts and that I wasn't going to pay for the breakfast I never wanted to begin with. I would keep my original choice of the eggs Benny . It was 2 minutes later someone was knocking at the door to take the eggs and bacon back. It took hours to get the food but a minute for them to come back and take it back. That's really gross and unprofessional. Were they planning to serve it to someone else? I was so disgusted by the whole thing I packed my things and left early. When I got my bill not only did they not comp the champagne and strawberries the breakfast I didn't order was on my bill too! So much for the wonderful locals discount. Still cost over $400. I learned from an employee that this isn't a real Hilton property. It is a franchise privately owned and allowed to use the Hilton name. That explains everything. Hilton Corp should put a stop to that if they want to keep their reputation for a fine hotel intact.
