| - In the corner of the giant pool and lounge area at the 4th floor of the Venetian lies the day club TAO Beach. Me and my friends went down for bottle service and relaxation after a long Thursday night hitting the town. At the front of the line I was immediately turned away. Why? Because I was not in beach attire. I'm so used to typical club dress code that I didn't realize this establishment is a little different, and strict about it. Back to grabbing a t-shirt and some trunks!
We got the Cabana area with a couple bottles, mixers, a fridge with drinks, and a safe to keep our valuables secure. It was very roomy for the 8 of us to hang out in the shade while everyone played. Our waitress/waiters were very pleasant and accommodating, actually, every staff member I met there was approachable and easy to work with. I expected a pretentious, snarky kind of attitude at a Vegas club, but this place feels much different. It's refreshing to have this kind of staff than the ones I'm used to at all the night clubs.
We ordered food to go along with our bottle spend for the VIP section which included small plates and apps such as fries, shrimp skewers, quesadillas, wings, etc. They were pretty tasty, but nothing memorable. I assume they're from the main Tao Restaurant so I would definitely try out their main entrees before having a solid opinion on the food. $30 bucks I got a huge melon slushie. I expected it to be a watered down drink, but NO, it was BOOZY AS HECK and induced several brain freezes. I loved it!
Among all the cabanas and shaded beach chairs is a single large pool for people to cool off in. I must admit I had a good time in there and everyone else was enjoying their time. I'm pretty sure I spent over 2 hours playing pool volleyball! It's cool meeting so many diverse people through sports rather than drinking (though we all did that too).
Out of all the clubs I went to, this was my favorite of the weekend. I kind of scoffed at the idea of a day club but this place went beyond my expectations. I hope to come back for another round of volleyball. Bump, set, spike!
