| - Allow me to quote from two prior reviews of Tap Phong:
"The place is huge with lots of helpers if you need their assistance."
"The service is stellar too"
In related news: Donald Trump is a stable genius, the Conservative Party of Canada cares more for Canadian citizens than it does for Israel, USA and corporations and I am Sailor Moon in my alternate secret life...
lol and now back to reality... Tap Phong is a good place to pick up a variety of Chinese and western kitchen items whether for home or for a restaurant. However, the service is non-existent. Write on this page anyone who has ever received a 'hello' or 'good-bye' or 'thank-you' from them. My best guess is that they do not even know how to say 'thanks.' The man at the cash is practically numb. Yes, I know it is Chinatown.
The shop is crammed and is a good one-stop shop when looking for supplies; however, be advised that there is no service, it is crammed with the employees randomly knocking into you, blocking aisles (all it takes is one of their trollies), pushing you and the lighting is depressing.
One more thing, which is important. Their prices are merely average. They do not have great pricing on anything. They just probably just have it! They actually remind me of Amazon. There are many things in stock here, but more recently if one compares the price of Amazon to the local store one notices that Amazon is actually more expensive or the same as a local shop! Then again, Amazon probably carries what one needs as does Tap Phong...
