The bad:
First and fore most, what is the point on making reservations if you have to wait an hour before getting a table? They tried to be nice and all, but in the end my patience was tested. They added tables to a walk in and that seems to be the reason why we waited so long. Now why did we just not leave? Because they said that it would only be a 15 minutes wait and suggested we open our wine bottle to which we have agreed to.
The good:
The waitresses were more then nice! They felt really bad and even stayed patient with us. Especially after seeing my patience and my temper getting tested. It quickly calmed me down and put a smile back on my face.
The menu is simple but refined as well for a bistro. We didn't get the table d'hôte because we usually never get to the desserts :)
I got the salmon escabeche. Tasty, fresh, well seasoned with creamed corn and fried shallots. Hubby got the parfait the volaille. Creamy and so decadent! For the main, i got the hanger steak with vegetables. Cooked to perfection! Everything!!! Felix got the catch of the day which was a crusted cod filet with barley and some sort of smokey reduction. Flaky, tender, perfect! The portions were so generous that we couldn't take anymore in!
Ok... So i got irritated, even annoyed at first for waiting 45 minutes for a table (with reservations). But the superb service and delicious food made my husband and i a little happier in the end:)
