rev:text	allegiant is about as no frills as it gets but, then again, frills are not what they're selling. my two star-rating is by no means an insult. you have to understand what you're getting into with allegiant. they are not selling comfort or first-class service; they are selling low fares to/from destinations most airlines charge and arm and a leg for or outright ignore. i fly from las vegas to california several times a year. before allegiant my choices were sfo, oak, or smf none of which were very close and my parents don't live in a place served by public transportation. this made coordinating pickup and drop off challenging at times. when allegiant opened service sck it made things so much easier as it's only a ten minute drive from my parents' house. i find it aggravating that allegiant, like many other airlines, advertises a ridiculously low fare then nickel and dimes you to something near what you'd expect to pay. rountrip to sfo, oak, or smf is around $150-$200 without baggage fees. allegiant tends to be on the low end of that range with baggage fees and they fly to a much more convenient airport so it's been worth it for me. still, i wish they'd just publish the total fare and not insult my intelligence by trying to trick me into thinking i'm flying roundtrip for $90. i have never had a pleasant experience flying allegiant because i'm 6'2" and their seats seem made for someone who is barely 5'2" but that's part of why they are so inexpensive. more seats in a smaller airplane equals less leg room but lower fares. however, all my flying experiences have been adequate. i liken allegiant to riding a public bus. it's not comfortable but it gets you there. in conclusion, do your research before you fly. look on a site like seatguru to find the best place to sit. i often sit in the back because they will deplane from both ends at sck. pay attention to the ancillary fees and comparison shop. you'll be hard pressed to find better deals to the smaller airports that allegiant serves but you may find better comfort levels.
