| - This place was great! Only one small hiccup, but I wont hold that against them.
The restraunt was easy enough to find, you do have to walk through the casino a bit if you come through the front lobby area, but it is close to the forum tower, if you are staying at this hotel.
I had made a reservation on open table, so it was not difficult to get in at the time. My only hiccup- is that I showed up a bit early, and was told rather rudely by the hostess to come back later. Just a tip: a smile goes a long way. Whatever, people have bad days, and I am not going to let hers get to me. All the other hostesses I interacted with after this interaction were find and pleasant.
Once we were seated, we were given our menus and shown the special by our waiter, taylor (I believe). He was fantastic. A+ for him.
We ordered an glass of wine, an appetizer, two mains, and a side to start. The appetizer was taking quite a bit of time to come out, and shockingly our waiter brought us a half order of wings while we were waiting. Great Service! Also- those wings are magic. I would order those.
Shortly after our appetizer arrived. I had ordered the poutine. It was great. the cheese curds were gooey and stringy, and the meat was fall apart good. I would order this as a main.
For our mains we ordered the short rib and the fish and chips. We also ordered the lobster mac and cheese as a side. All of them were amazing. I was so impressed (minus the mashed peas served with the fish and chips, but that is not the restaurant's fault- I just though they were nasty).
I also ordered the toffee bread pudding to go that you get here for your first yelp check in, and it was MAGICAL. I ate it back in our room and it was so good I didn't even offer any to my other half. :)
I was a little worried coming in here, because the reviews are not all that great, but I thought the experience and decor was great, the food was great, and our waiter was great. Overall, I would come back here, and recommend it!
