This is easily the best new restaurant I have been to in the last year. Extremely good value here - great menu, I had the "Smart Chicken" which was out of this world yummy. The Smart Chicken had a wonderful smokiness that permeated with a sweet corn risotto below, smoked onion & shitake mushroom hash & truffle oil. Unbelievable.
The Chef is apparently from the renowned Cowboy Ciao, but I have to say that the food quality and inventiveness here to me surpass Ciao as I always found Ciao trying too hard for the "Southwesty" experience which to me felt contrived with too much schtick.
Some of the people in our group had the burgers, which I tasted and were all superb. As others have said, the Chopped Salad is extraordinary with a tangy dressing and just the right amount of fresh ingredients.
I Highly recommend the Fondu appetizer (served over a candle, not sterno as I read in prior reviews). The Fondu came with some sausages and crusty bread and had just the right tangy cheesiness.
Also, the bacon Popcorn appetizer was insane - what a great idea, with small charred bits of fatty bacon drizzled over the white popped morsels.
Even the ketchup for the fries was homemade from scratch!
To me this is the best new spot since NOCA opened - but with better pricing. This is a foodies paradise, and I suggest you get here soon before it becomes the hot ticket that it is surely destined to be. Winner.
