  • Our first Row House Cinema experience was this past Saturday, part of our kickoff day of PCBW 2015. We came for the 5:45 p.m. showing of "Blood, Sweat, and Beer", a recently-released documentary on the craft brewery scene and featuring none other than Braddock's own The Brew Gentlemen. What did I love most about Row House? A) The theatre itself. It's small, sure, but clean, well-maintained, with cupholders at every seat and some darn comfy-looking loveseats in the front row. (Possibly a little too close to the screen for me, but who knows? Maybe with the right movie, a little snuggling in the front row would be nice. Apologies if you ever catch us snuggling...) B) The films. Row House seems to offer thematic showings. This week, in honor of Pittsburgh Craft Beer Week, Row House is cycling through "Blood, Sweat, and Beer", "Dazed and Confused", and everyone's favorite cult classic, "The Big Lebowski". Next up on the docket? A rotation of vampire films -- and I just know I'll be back at Row House to catch the mockumentary, "What We Do in the Shadows". Thank you, Row House, for these cinematic gems. C) The beer. Did I mention that "Blood, Sweat, and Beer" features The Brew Gentlemen's own Asa and Matt's story? Appropriately, Atlas Bottle Works next door is offering 5 Brew Gentlemen brews on tap to buy and carry into the cinema. The boyfriend and I both got a Brew Gentlemen to take in to the theater with us on Saturday. Nothing like viewin' and sippin' the afternoon away. D) One more wonderful thing to love about Pittsburgh. Row House is a great destination for an afternoon or evening, and they offer a variety of interactive events, including Q&As with directors, sing-alongs, and "Brew and Views". Who doesn't love a place so tied into its community? NO ONE. THAT'S WHO.
